How it works
You describe the job once. We do the rest.
Kablay is a reverse marketplace: instead of you calling contractors, qualified contractors come to you — but only the ones who fit.
The homeowner side
Category, address, timing and a few photos if you have them. Two minutes, no account required to start.
We work out the trade, the Washington credential the work requires and the realistic budget band, then check which nearby pros hold it and are taking work.
You compare verified badges, response times and completed jobs — then pick one. Nobody else gets your number.
A review can only be left on a job that actually completed through Kablay, which is what keeps ratings meaningful.
A marketplace that leaves a request sitting is worse than no marketplace at all. Until supply density is proven in every category, unanswered urgent requests escalate to a human who calls contractors directly. It does not scale forever — that is the point of doing it now, while the volume is small enough to learn from.
Frequently asked
Do I have to create an account?
You can start describing the job immediately. Contact details are needed only so the matched pros can reach you.
What does it cost me?
Nothing. Contractors pay for access to the work; homeowners never pay Kablay.
Can I get more than three quotes?
You can ask for another round. What we will not do is hand your number to ten companies at once — that is the failure mode of every lead-selling site.
What if the pro and I disagree?
Job status and messages stay on the platform, so there is a record. For contract disputes, Washington’s bonding system exists precisely for this — which is why we only list contractors whose bond is active.
Kablay is an independent marketplace. License, bond and insurance status is sourced from public Washington L&I records and re-checked regularly, but homeowners should always confirm credentials before signing a contract.
